Oooh, yes! It looks like Atholl Palace is out for us - I just downloaded their 2011 prices and it's £800 more than our local venues. Still going for the weekend though :-D

Don't discount it yet! ;) We found that when we sat down and fully crunched the numbers on different places, a lot of hidden costs came out that made a place that seemed cheaper actually not be. One good thing about the Atholl Palace is that the rooms are so nice that they need almost no decoration, so we're saving lots of money on that. They're also flexible on the packages; for example, we don't want an evening buffet, which is included in the package prices (a rarity actually, so if you DO want an evening buffet, you'll probably find it's extra and can add enough to the price to make the difference), so they were willing to knock that off the price. You also get 5 drinks (and canapes with package D), which is the most of any place we saw. Their corkage (they claim they don't do it, but we have a very specific and hard to find wine, so they were willing to be flexible) was among the most reasonable, and they also took the cost of some drink off for that as well.
